The Stride Towards a Circular Economy

E-Waste in Numbers

In the fast-paced digital age, electronic waste, commonly known as e-waste, has emerged as a formidable environmental challenge.

With the rapid advances in technology, the disposal of electronic devices has escalated, leading to harmful consequences for our planet.

According to the Global E-Waste Statistics Partnership, global e-waste will reach over 74.7 million metric tonnes by the end of 2030. This incredible statistic implies a nearly 100% increase in e-waste numbers from 2010 to 2030.

Circular Economy

However, amidst this pressing concern, a glimmer of hope shines through the concept of the circular economy.

Embracing a circular approach means extending the lifecycle of technology, encouraging reuse, refurbishment, and recycling to minimise waste.

All businesses play pivotal role in shaping the future.  Therefore business sustainability efforts are now more critical than ever.

Our Commitment

ICT Revere’s commitment to providing a circular economy has been the catalyst for our development into one of the industry’s most successful and trusted ITADs.

We provide sustainable services for end-of-life ICT.  Each month we process over 47,000 assets, of which 75% of devices are re-used, 25% of devices are recycled and 0% goes to landfill.  This includes laptops, computers, mobiles, hard drives, servers, terminals, monitors and printers and much more!

Last year, ICT Reverse processed 1,328 tonnes of e-waste which is the equivalent weight of 553 buses.

Sustainability is at the heart of ICT Reverse’s business practices and we are continually looking at ways to develop our skills and expertise in this area.

We are working in partnership with Lancaster University to develop a sustainable electronic waste solution using bioleaching.  The ultimate goal is to extract copper and precious metals such as gold from printed circuit boards, which can then be sold back into the marketplace. If scalable, this will improve sustainability and significantly decrease the need for mining.

We have also partnered with Circular Computing™ in order to offer our customers devices that save them money and the planet simultaneously.  The remanufactured laptops offer 97% of the performance of the latest models and up to 40% savings compared to brand new.  Five trees are planted for every laptop that goes to Circular Computing™ through our services.  Circular Computing™ then remanufacture the computers and another 5 trees are planted for every laptop sold.
