Sustainability is at the heart of ICT Reverse’s business practices and we are continually looking at ways to develop our skills and expertise in
this area.
Our Commitment to the Environment
- We are working in partnership with Lancaster University to develop a sustainable electronic waste solution using bioleaching.
- 5 trees are planted for every refurbished laptop that is sent to our partner Circular Computing™.
- We operate a zero landfill tolerance policy.
- We have a close relationship with the Environmental Agency and we are audited regularly to maintain our AATF accreditation.
- All customer documentation and due diligence paperwork are sent electronically to eliminate the need for hard paper copies.
- All vehicles in our fleet are categorised as Emission Standard 6 which is the sixth (and current) incarnation of the European Union directive to reduce harmful pollutants from vehicle exhausts.
- We are currently working on two carbon reducing projects funded by the ERDF (European Regional Development Fund) and delivered by the University of Central Lancashire.
ICT Reverse is proud to support the UN's Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
The UN’s 17 Sustainable Developments Goals (SDGs) set forth an urgent call to action by all countries – developed and developing – to unite in a global partnership. These goals recognise that ending poverty and other deprivations must go hand-in-hand with strategies that improve health and education, reduce inequality, and spur economic growth – all while tackling climate change and working to preserve our natural resources and biodiversity.
Supporting Our Clients' Sustainability Goals
- The production, use and disposal of electronic equipment generates a significant amount of carbon, a major contributor to climate change.
- Nearly 5% of global emissions come from the production of electronic devices.
- E-waste makes up 70% of our overall global toxic waste yet only 18% of e-waste is recycled.
- The UK is the 2nd highest contributor of e-waste in the world.
- Over the last 15 years, the amount of e-waste in the UK has doubled.
- By ensuring equipment is re-used, reduced and responsibly recycled, we encourage carbon avoidance and generate carbon savings.
- ICT Reverse produces sustainability certificates for all customers outlining their carbon savings.
- The figures are calculated from UK Government Conversion Factors for greenhouse gas (GHG) reporting.
- These factors are suitable for use by UK-based organisations of all sizes and international organisations reporting on UK operations
- Therefore, the scope of the factors is defined such that it is relevant to emissions reporting.
