The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) comes into force on 25 May 2018 and will apply to EU organisations and any company offering goods, services or marketing to EU citizens.
The new rules will build upon current privacy regimes including the Data Protection Act 1998 and aims to strengthen an individual’s right with regard to their personal data. The GDPR will become law on 25 May 2018 and this is a hard deadline, your business will need to be compliant from day one.
Join our experts for a breakfast briefing to ensure your business is ready for the new legislation.
The briefing will be hosted by ICT Reverse Compliance Director Ken Parker and Employment Lawyers, Joanne Holborn, Tom Scaife & Caroline Rayner from Baines Wilson.
Ken will talk about the practicalities of data security and essential protection for your business and Baines Wilson’s Employment Team will advise on the steps businesses need to take to be ready for 25 May 2018, the differences between the Data Protection Act and the GDPR and the consequences of non-compliance.
